Golden Gate Park: East End
The East End of Golden Gate Park holds many features and stories of its past one hundred year existence. The Conservatory of Flowers, underground tunnels, a rock quarry, and a long gone aviary are part of its past. View the AIDS Memorial Grove, and the new buildings in the Music Concourse, site of the 1894 World’s Fair. We will be walking up small hills and climbing some stairs in this two-hour walk.Meet at bottom of the steps of the Conservatory of Flowers.

Explore a magic garden and windmills that helped create Golden Gate Park. Trace the tracks of trains that brought San Franciscans to Ocean Beach in Victorian Times. Discover Lucien Laubaudt's magnificent murals of 1930s City Life in Willis Polk's landmark Beach Chalet.
Meet at the Queen Wilhelmina Garden on John F. Kennedy Drive near the Great Highway.

AIDS Grove and Children's Playground

Enjoy the tranquility of the AIDS Memorial Grove. Begin by walking through the Fern Dell and Quarry Lake. Those who wish may end the walk at the Children’s Playground.
Meet at the base of the stairs in front of the Conservatory of Flowers on John F. Kennedy Drive.

Family Stroller Walks in Golden Gate Park
Explore the twelve scenic areas of Golden Gate Park in this series of peaceful walks. Each walk departs from a new location, enabling walkers to discover fascinating history and natural features unique to each area. This walk is ideal for adults with children in strollers, seniors, and those with mobility impairment. Terrain is generally flat and tour lasts one hour.

Heroines and Heroes
Starting at the Pioneer Women Monument, stroll through the Rose Garden and Heroes Grove, and then on to the Mothers’ Meadow and Playground. Those who wish may end the walk at the Playground.
Meet at the Pioneer Women Monument located off John F. Kennedy Drive, east of the road to Stow Lake.

Japanese Tea Garden
Explore the varied landscape of ponds, bridges and sculptures. Learn the symbolism and history of the Garden.
Meet inside the Main Gate after admission $4 is paid of free for Members of the San Francisco Parks Trust.

Lloyd Lake Walk
Stroll by a lake, view Portals of the Past – an earthquake era landmark, climb a mountain and walk through redwoods.
Meet at the pedestal map in front of Lloyd Lake on John F. Kennedy Drive near Transverse Drive.

McLaren’s Walk
The favorite path of pioneer Park Superintendent John McLaren. Stroll through the East End, AIDS Memorial Grove, “Hippie Hill”, and Conservatory Valley. Meet at McLaren Lodge. 90 minutes.

North Lake
Explore North Lake, circling the west side, observe bison in their paddock, visit the Anglers’ casting pools and return on the east side of North Lake.
Meet at the parking lot near the 43rd Avenue & Fulton entrance to the Park.

Polo Fields to Spreckles Lake
Encounter horses, turtles, water fowl, and maybe a few tiny boats as Spreckles Lake is home to model yacht enthusiasts.
Meet at the parking lot near the southwest end of the Polo Fields, off Middle Drive West, just east of the Park entrance of 41st Avenue and Lincoln Way.

San Francisco Botanical Garden
The Strybing Arboretum and Botanical Gardens are recognized as a world-class living museum of plants. There are some 75,000 kinds of plants from six continents in the 55 landscaped areas.
Meet inside of the North Gate of the Botanical Garden near the Japanese Tea Garden on Martin Luther King Drive.

South Lake
Explore South Lake, the adjacent meadow and the Bercut Equitation Ring. Those who wish may end the walk at the Children's Playground.
Meet in the parking lot north of South Lake and near Lincoln Way and 41st Avenue.

Statue Walk
Experience Golden Gate Park as an art gallery. Enjoy the individual stories of the statues in the Music Concourse.
Meet at the John McLaren Statues, east of the Fulton Street and 8th Avenue entrance to the Park.

Stow Lake
Saunter around Stow Lake, exploring the Roman & Rustic Brides, Huntington Falls, Golden Gate Pavilion, and Strawberry Hill Island.
Meet at the front entrance to the Stow Lake Boat House.

Strawberry Hill Tour
Get your exercise walking up to the top of Strawberry Hill on Stow Lake. Look down at Huntington Falls. See where the Sweeney Observatory used to be.
