Music in Parks :: Celebrating community

Do you need help with your next community event?

Music in Parks provides awards up to $500 to neighborhood organizations to support fun, free community-building events in San Francisco's parks and open spaces.

Awards applications are evaluated in several areas including: the feasibility of the project, the level of community engagement and need, and the potential for stewardship.

Applications are accepted year round; we make 5-6 awards per year.

Past Receipents include:
Nature in the City for Earth Day 2008. Award money was used to hire an emcee and printing to publicize the event. 

Sunnyside Park Families and Neighbors hosted a ribbon cutting party in 2007 to commemorate the completion of the capital renovations to Sunnyside Park. The money was used to pay musicians and a balloon twister.

The Friends of Noe Courts received an award for a neighborhood festival benefiting the renovation of the Noe Courts playground and park. The money was used to pay for a sound system, jumpy house for kids, advertising and port-a-potty.

Jerry Day 2007 received an award to support the annual Jerry Day music festival. The money was used for performers, publicity, and security.
